My husband’s side of the family is wonderfully huge. We had an opportunity to have a photographer come in and do a giant extended family group photo. There are 51 of us! While the individual families were getting their families photos done, I snuck off to the side of the field to take pictures of my own kids and a few others who wanted an extra shot or two. Here are the results!
Six months ago the PTA where my kids go to school asked me if I would be the photographer for the Pony Express Days Baby Contest. I was super thrilled and nervous all at the same time. I called up my friend (Carma Gray Photography) who had been doing it for the past 10 years or so and she was super sweet, helpful, and put my nerves at ease all while having a numb mouth from being at the dentist only minutes before! I love her forever for it.
The contest started and from 10:30-12:00 I had a steady stream of babies to photograph. It was fun, and fast paced. Here are some of my favorites from the day (In no particular order).

I got a new lens and wanted to try it out on my munchkins. Wow! I love it! I feel like I have lots more control over my camera’s settings.
Also I finally figured out that my fence makes a GREAT reflector. Tons of yummy light bouncing onto my lovely, super cute subject, Miss J.
This 24 month old just had her birthday and she was busy, busy. She taught me a lot too.
It’s funny how kids so young can teach us things. But she did, and I love her for it.
Thanks for bringing her by the studio Sarah. I loved seeing you and spending time with you before you disappear for a while. 😉
